Sunday Afternoon

What sort of entertainment can you have in a hot Sunday afternoon right after a big lunch? Want to have some kind of arcade action without being a couch potato? That pretty much described what Vivian and I did today. The "hero" and "heroine" equipped with lethal weapons, seeking and defeating the "baddies", encountering the "big boss" at the end, and save the cute princess's day. Well, it is just short of saving the world...

And Scott and Vivian happened to be our hero and heroine of the day. Lethal weapon is nothing other than rolled up news paper and slippers. "Baddies" were the a dozen or so buzzing flies that slipped into our house through the window reared the kitchen. At one stage they were just everywhere, and that had really disturbed Anna, our cute little princess, from taking her afternoon nap. So here we go, two of us, flapping and slapping trying to beat the hell out of those annoying fast flying animals. We had to deploy some strategies like constraining the individuals into a small room, closing the door behind and beating 'em up. Finally, "Splash", the last of the stubborn one was killed by my mighty slipper. All their corpses (quite a few of them) were dumped into the toilet bowl, and Flush!. The triumph is on our side...

Suddenly, out of nowhere came the "big boss" - a large cockroach on top of our ceiling! We had not had a cockroach in our house for months. Partially due to cleanliness, and partially due to the household policy that not one of them should be allowed to leave alive. Because of the height, a projectile weapon is needed, so I took out our BFG9000, hmmm I mean the insect spray. Aim and fire the shot to take it down to the floor. Switched the weapon to my slipper and Whack! That again went to the toilet.

And that was our Sunday afternoon entertainment.
