Boris Mann claimed that URLs are dead because no one remembers them and everyone is googling what they want anyway. Aargh! URLs are far from dead! It is still doing what it was designed to do - provides an universal unique identifier to any resource, whether it is on the web, FTP, Gopher or on your own hard drive. No where says that it needs to be permanent, easy to remember and fool proof. And what does Google gives you after you type in a search query? D'oh. An URL.
