Unexpected Visitors

One problem of writing publicly on a blogsite is that you sometimes get unexpected visitors browsing your site. Those you wondered, "huh? How do they get here?" That's the shocking feeling I got after I discovered two instances of unexpected guests. One landed on my website (my on-line resume actually) by searching the name of the company I currently work for. Then that visitor crawls through all the work-related posts that I have written. That just got me cold chill on my spine.

Then I found that someone I interviewed a few months ago at work, but subsequently rejected due to various reasons, is also reading this blog! And from the logs he is like reading this everyday! Hey! I know you are reading this. Maybe I should also be very careful when I write about job interviews...

Last year's April Fool there was a joke about the evil bit in the IPv4 header. I wish it is true, and there is a alternate version that toggles the bit for unexpected guests visiting your blogsite, which can be real life friends, colleagues or family members, so that I can use iptables rule to filter them out...
