Just found it interesting to see how the hosting network of Fellow Workers has evolved throughout the years. I don't really have an idea who this "Fellow Workers" really is, but they seem to be the IT consulting arm of MTS, and in close relationship with Unichurch, St. Matthias, AFES, Campus Bible Study etc. Doing a WHOIS reveals some hints - it is registered under Mr. P. Benn of MTS Limited at Kingsford. I wonder who he is :) Can someone who knows the inside helping us out?
Two months ago I discovered that Fellow Workers was on SwiftDSL network, which became a close neighbour of mine. However, the matter seems to have changed. Here is what is happening now:
$ host fellowworkers.com fellowworkers.com has address 22.214.171.124
218.214.xx.xx address is still part of SwiftDSL network. But let us look at how associated domains resolve.
$ host mts.com.au mts.com.au has address 126.96.36.199 $ host afes.org.au afes.org.au has address 188.8.131.52 $ host campusbiblestudy.org campusbiblestudy.org has address 184.108.40.206 $ whois 220.127.116.11 % [whois.apnic.net node-1] % Whois data copyright terms http://www.apnic.net/db/dbcopyright.html inetnum: 18.104.22.168 - 22.214.171.124 netname: FELLOW country: AU descr: Fellow Workers Consulting ... ...
Get it? Now many AFES affiliated ministries are now hosted on this address which belongs to "Fellow Workers Consulting"'s /28 network! From WHOIS database, many domains last updated on Saturday, 1st of May. Moreover, it seems Fellow Workers would be on their new "fw.net.au" domain, registered by Campus Bible Study's webmaster. Wow! Your own /28 network (14 IP addresses to play with) connected to speedy Comindico network!

Hey hey. That's pretty impressive. So, what does that matter, I hear you ask? Probably nothing. Scott is just satisfied with his Wednesday afternoon discovery :)
On another note, I got an email from KS that University Churches parish has got the
unsw.org.au domain, and he is asking different churches to register sub-domains under it. We are getting "
iuc.unsw.org.au" and "
ucc.unsw.org.au", and I will be getting them to point to my ADSL link. But maybe it can be hosted on a much faster network with the rest of Fellow Workers website, if it is what they have planned.
And I still have some issues to sort out together with Josh regarding forums and blogsites, as he reckons some misunderstanding might have caused departure of one member. Hmmm...
