According to Jarno, "weblogs are an optimal format for distraction and procrastination" because both reading and writing weblogs are easy tasks for average human. A typical person don't really learn anything from a weblog entry, especially those that just mumble on his/her/their daily lives. When you subscribe to a weblog (via RSS/news aggregator or constantly pressing refresh button on your web browser), then you must feel very bored that you have to read all the mindless blogs that the authors managed to produce. Wait. It is more like procrastinating than feeling bored, because reading mindless blogs is much easier than doing what you are supposed to do at the moment.
The same can be said about the author of the blogs. Basically you don't need to write anything that is deep and meaningful on your blog site, and usually you can spill out a blog entry in 5 minutes (without any spelling and grammar checking, of course). You are really responsible for what you have written, and no one comes around to check the quality of your "master piece". It is perfect for someone who is procrastinating.
Well. I am feeling guilty now. Let me see. I am still waiting for my compilation to finish on an over-loaded server....
