Dispensationalism

Perry from HK (an Ex-FOCUS) started a discussion thread on the FOCUS Net about the present Palestinian Israeli conflict. Perry pointed out an article on the Christian Today web site, and through the link I got to an article about dispensationalism, which basically belives the restoration of the nation Israel in 1949 was a fulfilment of God's prophecy in the Old Testament. In the article, some people sees that the "Promised Land" of God is that little piece of land in the Middle East, and so-called Evangelicals are supporting Israel because they reckon the Israelites are still God's chosen people.

I think it is an interesting topic, as I also met quite a few people before holding such views. They see the restoration of nation Israel demonstrates the power of God. However, ain't the Christians the real Israelites (seed of Abraham - Gal 3:29)? Ain't the new heaven and new earth the real promised land? Hebrews 4 told us clearly that the rest is not here in Jerusalem. I think I might spend time to do some research on dispensationalism...
