Apparently the latest iPhone 3G that was just been announced by Apple, will only be available at either Vodafone or Optus when it comes out on 11 July, i.e. no Telstra nor Three. I won’t mind paying $210 up front for this new phone with 3G, HSPA, GPS, WiFi, etc — if its USD$199 price tag can be carried over to Australia. More likely we are going to pay more than double for that…

Oh boy, $210 is really good price (if we can get buy it from US directly, but then do you have to pay tax?)..
but I’ve just got a new mobile phone :( need to be content..
@Felix — there are a few services that let you buy items in US, but not sure about the 24 contract with an US company and how is that going to work out. Normally you don’t need to pay stamp duty or GST if the item is less than AUD$1,000 so an iPhone will be exempted as well.
Jobs promised that was the global price…but we’ll wait and see
you want one? i know ppl who know ppl
