Anil Dash: Presenting Movable Type 4.0. It has come a long way since Movable Type 3 back in 2004, and the new version has certainly contained many new features. However the Open Source version is still “upcoming”. Whether there is going to be mass-exodus between platforms is still to be seen. I am not moving anywhere though.

Hi Scott, thanks for the link. We’re definitely not looking for any kind of “mass exodus” — I think if anything, we’re hoping for an influx of people who hadn’t considered blogging before, or didn’t think it was for them. That idea of bringing the potential to the majority of people who’ve *still* never blogged is our mission, which I think you can see in why we made MT4.
I hope that is a useful explanation for you, and that you give our efforts a look. :)
i was looking at the MT blog entry last night and thinking it looks really good! i thought there is a free license for personal use?
I doubt there will be a mass exodus, however having more options and flavours never hurt anything. I think with the release of MT4, you’ll probably find that it continues to do certain things better than WordPress, while WordPress does other things better.
