Speeding in the tunnel
SMH: $1,551.78 toll for taking the Cross City Tunnel. It seems that that deserted tunnel is the only place in the Sydney CBD where you can drive at 125km/hour, and for the first six months of operation it has already generated $594,950 of revenue in speeding fines.
Sounds like an alternative income for the operators (conspired together with the RTA?), who is still loosing money on the tunnel with lower than expected traffic.
However one interesting note comes from the opposition leader:
At the time, the Opposition roads spokesman, Andrew Stoner, accused the Government of milking motorists and going against its own policy of only installing speed cameras in tunnels where there was an established “problem with excessive speeding”.
Yeah. A typical “opposition does what the opposition does best”.

Where are the cross city tunnel Speed Cameras Located. ie under which streets? The NSW GOvernment is incredably secretive about this. As these are in the Public domain shouldn’t we be allowed to know where they are? Something stinks about this and its in the tunnel.
