I just found out that there is evidently a problem, most likely in my work, that makes it not work on IE6 on XP, SP2.

Here's a few tidbits:

- is in my template, just under the element

ESVPopupFrame {
    border: #808080 solid 1px;
    width: 300px;
    height: 200px;
  } - is in my template, in the stylesheet section.

  Deuteronomy 6:6
-- is my link.

Firefox 1.06 is fine, IE 6, a blank yellow box.

Doug,

Yes. I have not tried to get it working on Safari yet (wife kept on using the iBook so I have no chance :) but I might get around to it sometime. Mac IE? Don't bother :)

As of closing the box - clicking on any other part of the page will close the popup box.

Very cool! Here's a usage report for you...

- I just tested it in Safari on a Mac. It's interesting that the links to specific scripture passages, such as your" John 3:16-17", pop up an empty box. However, your text links, such as your "The Beatitudes", seem to work fine. It's also interesting that after clicking any of the links, my status bar shows "Cancelled opening the page".

- Both work fine on the Mac version of Firefox and Opera.

- It does not work at all in Internet Explorer for Mac. But who cares. It's a dead browser.

One other thing for future versions. You might consider adding a link or button to close the box. Once you open one there is no way to stop it from covering part of the page and often blocking other content.
