Firefox 1.0 is just around the corner, and the Spread Firefox team is trying to get a full page ad on The New York Times. This site is also highly optimised for Firefox – you probably won’t see the rounded border if you don’t use the “right” browser. What?! Still use Microsoft Internet Exploder? With [...]

New iBook and Cheap PowerMac
New iBook and budget PowerMac has been released by Apple today as expected. Nothing really exciting – CPU speed bumps mainly for iBooks to 1.2Ghz on the 12″, and price stayed the same. While the budget PowerMac consists of 1.8Ghz G5 processor, its FSB is only at 1/3 of the CPU speed thus no match [...]
Telstra Privatisation
Should the Australian government sell all its 51.05 percent of Telstra? One “promise” by the coalition party is the privatisation Telstra, Australia’s largest telecommunication company that is currently having a monopoly on the copper network infrastructure. Yesterday, Tim Costello of Liberal said that it would be delayed until at least 2006, and today John Anderson [...]
Happy Bi…..
I wish I can say that to you, but this two words phrase has been registered as trademarks by a Chinese company, even the song that we sing on the birthday is copyrighted until 2030 and royalty is required if being performed publicly!
Gmail Trials DomainKeys
Slashdot reports Gmail has started adding DomainKey signature into out-going emails, even before Yahoo! I quickly wrote myself an email and verify that it is indeed the case. I wrote about DomainKeys 5 months ago, and I still doubt how successful it would be.
Mobile Phone Jamming at Church
A typical Sunday morning service. After a song or two, the pastor started to explain God’s word from the Bible enthusiastically. Most pew warmers are enjoying the talks, but a few might find the resonance of the preacher’s voice in their head emitting some sort of hypnotic substance… Then suddenly, the rhythm of “Amazing Grace” [...]
New Domain I Bought
While I do not agree that changing the domain name would eliminate irresponsible blogging issue (more to that later), earlier this morning I still managed to acquired a new .net domain from GoDaddy for 2 years at USD$8.95 per year. I’m pretty happy about this purchase. Hopefully I would not catch the credit card swiping [...]
Satellite in my house
BBC reports Chinese Satellite smashes into a villager’s house. More details here. Funny thing is the response from the tenant of the smashed appartment – “The satellite landed in our home. Maybe this means we’ll have good luck this year…” So “Chinese”!!
Expression
I wrote a long email last week trying to explain certain matters, and later on showed Vivian what I have written. She complemented me saying that I have ability to explain things well in writings, but then commented that it would be good if I would be able to do the same with my verbal [...]
Quickflix.com.au Review
Based on Johnson’s story on on-line DVD rental, I have decided to give it a try as an alternative to visiting the video shops. I picked Quickflix from half a dozen other fast growing on-line DVD rental stores because of their decent website and user-friendly interface, and test-drove their one month free-trial offer. Now, a [...]
Jensen Rocks the World
SMH reports the division between Anglican after PDJ’s remark at UK. I wonder how should we respond to it. Difficult to judge I’ll say, without being there listening to Phillip’s talks. I’ll refrain myself from commenting on it, except (1) media is not always right (2) Bible is always right and authoritative (3) Sydney-sider is [...]
Netscape is 10
Another birthday girl today, and this time it is 10th anniversary of first Netscape beta. It has come a long way, hasn’t it? I still remember in my first year uni, all the 1337 people used Netscape with its JPEG support, as the rest used Mosaic.
Knowledge, Freedom, Love and Blog
For the last 3 to 4 weeks, Mandarin Bible Fellowship worked through 1 Corinthians 8-10 in our Sunday Bible studies. The main theme is pretty obvious. Gospel is Paul’s agenda as he has been appointed as the Apostle to the Gentiles (1 Corinthians 9:17 “… entrusted with a stewardship”). His will is to save some [...]
Apple eMac G5 Rumour
AppleInsider reports the rumour of up-coming upgrade of Apple’s 17″ CRT eMac to use PPC G5 processors. If the price can be kept at AUD$1,299 for a 1.8Ghz eMac, I am sold.
