Down with Love

Down with Love I watched the movie Down with Love on DVD last night. This romance comedy is about the match between feminist best-seller author Barbara Novak (Rene Zellweger) and woman’s-man journalist Catcher Block (Ewan McGregor). It was actually surprisingly funny with quite a bit of parody to the 60′s. The shots were very “colourful”. The acting was exaggerated in a Broadway musical kind of way. A no brainer that is perfect for after-work relaxation.

I guess the problem for me though, is that whenever I looked at Ewan McGregor in his exaggerated funny moves, I just could not get rid of the image of force-wielding Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi off my mind. Sigh.

You mean the bit where Catcher Block sets up Barbara Novak was actually inside the ultimate plan of Nancy Brown, who became Barbara Novak in order to trick Catcher Block to set her up?

I agree that the plot is a bit dodgy with weird twists.
