3 Necks

Only most crazy guitarists would want to play 3 necks at the same time, and the article mentioned that Steve Vai as one, which I fully agree. You also need to have a good build and a very strong back to carry the weight.

Scripturizer for WordPress 1.3

Jon Mark Allen added some interesting features into Scripturizer for WordPress, and released it as Scripturizer 1.2. So I took what he has done, borrowed the idea of Bible translation customisation, added a bit of code of my own, and released it as Scripturizer for WordPress 1.3. Download Scripturizer 1.3 A list of changes: Feature: [...]

Creation or Evolution

SMH reports statistics showing Australians are 28% creationists and 43% evolutionists, comparing to 50% and 15% in the United States. Women, older people, Liberal voters and Queenslanders were less inclinded to believe in evolution. People earning high salary do not believe that they would go to heaven, neither do they want to go to hell [...]

Ashlee Simpson iPod

Via Engadget. Someone mocked up an Apple product page selling iPod Ashlee Simpson Karaoke Edition. LOL. Indeed very funny. But on the other hand, lip syncing is not that bad, at least I’ve seen plenty of them on Chinese-pop entertainment TV shows.

Dark Side of USB-Key

USB Keys with either Storm Trooper or Darth Vader attached to the top. Head turning guaranteed if you use one of those in crowd computers labs. And I can almost hear the Imperial March triumphing in the background when you plug it into the computer…

Re-Styled

Looks like I’ve done it again – Playground has been re-styled. Instead of making it a real eye pleaser, I’ve decided to make it simpler. White background everywhere. Minimal borders around the canvases. No decorating pictures. Bland. Maybe I’ll do away with this whole CSS thingy in the next iteration of Playground redesign.

Great Firewall

We all know that the great firewall in China has censored many websites that do not pass the government’s content filtering criteria. You cannot visit Blogspot, TypePad, CNN News and even part of Google.com from the Middle Kingdom. While I am someone who would promote freedom on the Internet, today I actually wished my home [...]

Together

It was “Unichurch Together” yesterday, an annual event that briefed everyone in the congregation about what everyone else has been doing. Packed Matthews A theatre, lots of people, good stories from different churches, an extra-ordinary short sermon from Joshua on Romans 15 and cold chicken/pork roll with soft drinks that concluded this “together” event for [...]

Piracy According to Ballmer

Steve Ballmer of Microsoft claimed the issue of software piracy in Asia is because of expensive hardware. I cannot see how his logic works, rather than trying to sell Microsoft’s software leasing business model. And as in China the Hotmail users/accounts to PC owner is 5 to 1 – of course in one household, multiple [...]

WP AuthImage Hack

Comment authentication via random text on image as a WordPress plugin. Looks cool. However, it is strongly discriminating against us text-mode browser users!

Google Saves

Google saved this Aussie in Iraq, as it showed he is not what they think he is. It is important to be able to find yourself on Google – just in case you are held at gun point.

Presentational-Server-less Laszlo

David Temkin talks about future Laszlo development towards optional presentational server. That’s actually something I am waiting for – it’s not that easy finding a consumer grade hosting that allows Java deployment, and not everyone is using Java on the Application server. It would be great if we can have Laszlo-based RIA with Python or [...]
