Where would infants go…

… heaven or hell, when they die? Tim Challies asked this very question, showed some answers from his research, and generated quite a few interesting discussions. For me, the answer is – “I don’t know”. But I believe that God is just, and he judges everyone without partiality. Yet at the same time he is [...]

Woman Ordination

Via Anglican Media Sydney. There are two articles on SMH regarding to woman ordination inside the Anglican circle. Muriel Porter from Melbourne argues for woman ordination, as (1) restricting it is too 19th century (2) Bible says men and women are both equal (3) Jesus included women in his disciples (4) Jesus first appeared to [...]

School Zone

This morning at around 8:30 when I was waiting for bus to go to work, two policemen stood there near the bus stop, using a mobile radar to catch speeding cars on the Gardeners Road. For the 5 minutes I was there, they caught 2 careless drivers and booked them. Commuters waiting for bus were [...]

BadJianZhu

Via Boing Boing. BadJianZhu is a website looking at all the new modern buildings sprung up in Beijing that are considered badly architectured. Some of them are indeed very funny.

IE Only CSS

John Hicks discovered a way to apply styles to only IE for Windows and Mac, while Mozilla, Opera and Safari would silently ignore it. Exactly what I am looking for! It does not validate though.

Sydney Diocese Relaxes on Lay Ministry

SMH reports Sydney Anglican Diocese is now a bit relaxed on lay minister or junior clergy administering the holy communion. It was a “priestly duty” previously in Anglican. Oops. I thought Josh has been doing that way before he was ordained. It does create tension though, as liberal parishes also do not need to set [...]

Spring Coming

You know the spring has come, when it blossoms… Still waiting for that white magnolia in the background…

Another TextPattern 1.0 RC Announcement?

Dean Allen says that TextPattern 1.0 RC will be released next Monday. He has made similar announcement previous but did not happen. Let’s hope this time he would make his target. I’ve got a development site on TXP 1.19gamma at the moment, and would love to move to the official One Point Zero before releasing [...]

Mena Trott Interview

Thanks to Kris Krug sending me this link on his interview with 6A’s Mena Trott, talking about 6A MT TP and the lot. All the best to the Trott’s, but I still would not recommend MT to a new blogger, for reasons I’ve outlined previously in this blog. Mean while, I’m still tied to their [...]

Scripturizer for Javascript

Moved! I have moved this project to my new programming/Internet blog — Scripturizer for Javascript. About This comment got me thinking – whether Scripturizer, implemented in PHP or Perl on the server side, is too difficult to use for people who have no scripting language or programming background. Dean Peter’s MovableType plugin version requires you [...]

iMac G5 1.8Ghz Benchmarked

Mac Rumors posted an early iMac G5 1.8Ghz benchmark result. With XBench at only 134.71, it is not that impressive. Can I change my Christmas wish to a DP 2.5Ghz G5 Tower, please?

Windows JPEG Vulnerability

There is a serious vunerability in JPEG file parsing in Windows operating systems, which would allow attacher to execute arbitary code. Patch is already available. However, these opensource patches are properly preferred. It is indeed serious – imaging evil websites with JPEG images with exploits? Delivered to you in Outlook which automatically previews? Via MSN [...]

Rockin’ in the Free World

I have been listening to G3 live album “Rockin’ in the Free World multiple times over the last free days, and here’s a short version of my review: Joe Satriani Great performance. Great solos. Even the singing in “Rockin’ in the Free World” is not too bad. Still my favourite Steve Vai 3 songs I’ve [...]

Beware Fake Gmail Invites

There are reports of fake emails from Google, telling Gmail users that they have new “invitation” package to use, and subsequently steal their password. Dodgy, but I don’t know that how many will fall for it.

Jesus Nebula

Telegraph reported a website, backed by Catholics and Anglicans, has shown a controversal Jesus face image found in the stars. I found the site here, but probably because I am not “spiritual” enough, I don’t see a thing in the clouds. Can any “Anglicans” help me out with this one? :) [Note: Just in case [...]
