Via ProBlogger, there lists 15 ways to make your blogsite or website more attractive. Nah. Don’t agree with all of them, and here’s my 16th – get rid of the bloody ads and that will make at least one customer happy.

Mine is Bigger than Yours
Yeah. You got a Gmail account, and pride yourself with that 1,000 Mb inbox? An on-line publisher is now offering free 100,000 Mb inbox to get your attention. Who needs to buy backup tape drives when you have this? Updated: The link is here – one ugly website I’ll say. But there is always something [...]
Business Blog?
Ben & Jackie gave 7 reasons why companies should have their weblogs, and 5 things bloggers don’t do. I don’t see the reasons listed apply to any situation other than one-man Internet shop that does mostly B2C. More evidently when “Blogger.com” is suggested for business. Still, blogging os not for everyone, nor for every commercial [...]
Full-time Ministry (Part II)
Tuesday. I usually go to the City Bible Forum under the AAP tower on Tuesdays, and Stuart Robinson from St. Andrew’s Cathedral gave an evangelistic talk on Acts 2. Afterwards, me, some of my colleagues, and another guy chatted about work and life at the foyer. Stuart finished his talk early, so we were not [...]
Spaceballs Sequel
Mel Brook is working on a sequel to Spaceballs, due to be out within the next year or two. Spaceballs was one of my favourite comedy, which I briefly reviewed here. Somehow I am more excited about the new Spaceballs than the new Starwars movie.
LiveHTTPHeaders and WebDeveloper
Two essential Firefox extensions for web developers – LiveHTTPHeaders and Web Developer. One allows you to inspect HTTP headers, and another one gives you quick access to some interesting tools.
Bloglines API
Bloglines has announced its REST based web service API for the external developers. Looks very interesting – you can now list subscriptions in OPML format and look at aggregated items in RSS2 format. Lots of possibility – gotta go and start hacking something up now. Well done Bloglines! Update: fruit of my hacking…
Popular Baby Names
Via OTWeb. Here is a statistics of popular baby names in the United States, and you can do a search on the up and down of your name’s popularity. “Anna” has been very popular in the late 19th century, felt off the chart for a while, and is now coming back again.
Making Money off Your Blog
24 ways to generate income from your blog/website by John Rhodes. Pretty comprehensive list, from banner advertises, to donations, to provide consulting services, etc. Not that useful to me at the moment, but just thought some of you might be interested.
Just bought an MP3 player!
Well. It is not an Apple iPod, nor a Creative Zen Touch. It is not even a thumb drive based MP3 player that you can hang around your neck. It plays CD and MP3, has a radio tuner, comes with a set of stereo speakers, and even includes a carrying handle! It is this monster [...]
BibleGateway Beta
BibleGateway.com has launched its latest beta testing site, where one can test and provide feedback to its new look. Nice that they are moving to XHTML 1.0 (Traditional), but the interface is still quite complicated. I would like scripture search be as simple as Google or Yahoo search…
Steve Morse: StressFest
Here’s an album I bought recently and have been listening for the last few days – Steve Morse‘s StressFest. It’s the first Morse album I bought, and I actually quite enjoyed it – much better than Yngwie Malmsteen I’ll say. He is not “lightening fast”, but has nice rhythm and melody, good tone, and a [...]
Sim The Sims
Via Boing Boing. Your character in The Sims 2 can apparently play the original “The Sims”. Not that I’ve played any, but I’m waiting for the Sims 3 so that I can play the Sims by my Sim inside the Sims 2! In a related news, universities are offering courses in Second Life, another real-life [...]
Greatest Guitarists of All Time
RollingStone.com rated top 100 greatest guitarists of all time, written last year. I found it via mindless surfing. None of my favourites are on the list (Satch, Vai, E. Johnson, Morse). Oh well, SRV also one of my favourite is at 7th, but he’s long dead. And what, Kirk and Kurt on top 20?!
Comindico under Receivership
Whirlpool reports Comindico is now controlled by the administrators from Ferrier Hodgson, as one of the largest network provider in Australia crumbles down. Well. A bit unexpected, but I was never on a Comindico network. Quite a few people I know are on Dodo though – not sure what will happen.
