Just got the confirmation that the home loan has been approved. Now we just need to find a place that we can afford, and start my new life as a slave to the banks. A few things I still need to learn. Budgeting is one.
Is there good tips on auctions? We will probably go to our first auction next week, but I still have no idea. That’s okay. Google is my friend. NSW Department of Housing also has some tips and check list that I need to read through. But I think that will be it for tonight. Gotta prepare for the seminar this Friday…
Congratualtions! Step 1 completed :)
Hmm. Sounds like you are more experienced. So that’s step 1 – and exactly how many steps are there? :^O
Congratulations! Do you mind telling which institution you got it with?
More experienced? Nope, I’m still saving for a deposit (stupid housing boom). I just know that getting the loan approval is the 1st step & I can’t even get up that one!
*sigh* Going to have to be at least one more year with the in-laws.
Wow! Man… my first step will be… like I don’t know how many years later *_o Anyway, Congratulations to you man! :P
I think I am more scared of the consequent steps. It is easy in Australia for the lenders to lend you more than you can borrow, and then people get stuck on paying off their mortgage. Not something that I am looking forward to, especially in a shacky industrial like IT.
And Tom, it is only a pre-approval – jus that I can now walk up to auctions knowing that the lender will lend me the money if I decide to go ahead with it, but I am not obligated to borrow from them.
I’ll write more about it when time comes.
Cool. You should definitely write a HOWTO when the time comes.
