Google Toolbar 2

Saw it initially from the WebMaster World, Google Toolbar has gong beta in its 2.0 release. Beside the regular feature that integrate Google searches onto your Internet Explorer, it also adds these features:

  • Popup Blocker
  • Auto Fill
  • Blog This

I’ve tested the popup blocker, and it seems to be working. When you enter a webpage that might trigger a popup, Google Toolbar will then notify you that the site has tried to popup a new window. By clicking on the button on the toolbar allows you to “release” the popup. Very handy in surfing the web today. Auto fill can, well, automatically fill the forms on the webpage with predefined name, email and addresses. It can also store up the credit card detail for you. Whereas blog this will automatically create a blog entry on the website you are viewing, but it works with only Blogger.

The primary use of Google Toolbar for me is still the Page Rank checking, and then that’s about it. I am going back to Mozilla now :)

Wanted to use the popup blocker, and blog buttons, I installed Google toolbar 2 *beta*…

Finally, no more unwanted popup… so exicted about the 2nd that I just realised that it doesn’t work with MovableType… ):

What made me really sad is the installation removes my history of Google Compute… ): I thought it should have kept its configuration somewhere… ):

How do I edit and use AutoFill?

The following steps should help you edit and use AutoFill with Google Toolbar 3.0:

    1. Click the “Options” button on your Toolbar.
    2. Check the box next to “AutoFill” if the box is not checked already.
    3. Click the “AutoFill Settings…” button.
    4. Edit any information.
    5. Click “OK” when you’re done.

If you’re using Google Toolbar 4.0, please follow these steps to use AutoFill:

    1. Click the “Settings” button on your Toolbar.
    2. Select “Options” from the drop-down menu.
    3. Check the box next to “AutoFill” if the box is not checked already.
    4. Click the “AutoFill Settings…” button.
    5. Edit any information.
    6. Click “OK” when you’re done.

When you see a yellow-colored form field on a webpage, you can click the “AutoFill” button to have AutoFill complete the form with the information you’ve provided.
    Edit Auto fill:
When using AutoFill, we encourage our users to be careful about the type of information they’re providing. Please be aware that certain pages may try to capture information in hidden or hard-to-see fields, so it is important that you use AutoFill only on sites you trust. If you are unsure what information you are providing, you can see your data before it’s entered into the form by holding down the Shift key as you click the “AutoFill” button.
