Hey.. that's interesting stuff.. I didn't know there are meanings behind most of these names... Oh.. one more thing about Cisco is that their logo represents San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.. I guess it's quite obvious anyway... :)

Two more:

Perl: Short from Practical Extraction And Reporting Language. They later (rightfully) dropped the "A" from PEARL.

Python: Creator Guido Van Rossum is a huge fan of Monty Python comedies.

Yahoo was also an acronym at one point: Yet Another Hierarchically Organized Oracle. I don't know whether it was a true acronym (words first, then shortened), or a backronym (shortened form first, then words fit into afterwards).

I remember my lecturer telling me that the first programming language was BCPL - Business Computer Programming Language, and that this is what the language B was derived from, and then after B came C... Bjarne couldn't decide if he should call his derivative D (as in B,C,D) or P (as in B,C,P,(L)) so eventually decided on C++ as in 'the one after C'. He also mentioned something about Perl being taken from the PL! Even if it's not true it's interesting! :)
