Waiting… Waiting… Waiting…
Ordered the 900Mhz iBook with 128 Mb of RAM, 40Gb of HDD and Airport on 22nd of April, when the updated iBook just came out. I made my order through the Apple Store – it is my very first Mac purchase. Yeah!
However, more than a week later I am still waiting for my iBook. When I went to the Order Status page, it just says “Being Assembled”. And it has been assembled since Monday! I was wondering whether they did start right from collecting the keys, paint the alphabets on them, as well as ringing up IBM to find a spare 900Mhz G3 750FX CPU. Another person on MacNN forum has already received his new iBook through a local dealer. Maybe this is what I should have done – go down to an AppleCentre and just pick up one there. I’m way to lazy…
Moreover, I need to wait for the RAM to turn up as well. I did not order extra RAM through Apple. Instead, I bought/ordered a 512Mb SO-DIMM from another company (for aroun $100 cheaper). However, it does not seem to have any stock at the moment. The same deal – ordered last week, got told that it is out of stock, but they will source it for me, and then never heard anything from them again. D’oh.
Waiting… Waiting… Waiting…
I remember daily checking to see the status of my PowerMac when I ordered it a few years ago. It seemed to take forever (2 weeks).
